For P.M. squads, commences at 1200 with a brief shooters meeting at 1230.  Remember: Must show active IDPA Membership and Current Class card to get your match packet and COF.  Current means within the 12 months previous to the match.

4.      The range will be open to casual match visitors on Friday April 23th.  The Staff will be shooting their match that day.  If you go out to the bays, please do not interrupt the Staff’s match.

5.      Park only on GRAVELED SURFACES.  Grass is for walking; gravel is for parking.  We have plenty of gravel parking.  If you park on the grass, we will be required to ask you to move.  On Saturday, please do NOT park behind the benches on the 200 yd Jack Ziegler Memorial rifle range.  You will be asked to move, as there is a scheduled rifle match on Saturday and that space is needed for the event competitors.

6.      Equipment (holsters, ammo carriers, cover garment, firearm) will be checked for Current Rulebook compliance.   We will make every effort to give you the opportunity to make your equipment compliant to the rules, before you begin competition.  We will NOT be scale or equipment Nazis, but we will make a good faith effort to keep the field of competition fair.  At least one of the compliance checks will include a firearm weight check.  We will attempt to conduct trial scale weight compliance checks before you begin competition.  Weights will be rounded to nearest number. 41.5 oz is 41; 41.6 oz is 42 oz.  Stage CSO’s will conduct walk-thru’s for each squad.  In the interests of saving time, this is a lost brass match.

7.      Oil Capital is a COLD RANGE facility.  All firearms must remain unloaded while on this facility.  You are expected to gear up and holster at your vehicle.  Put your unloaded pistol in your holster and then leave it there.  Practice draws are NOT PERMITTED anywhere except in the designated, signed safety areas.  Ammo/loaded magazines may NOT be handled in safety areas, but may be anywhere else.   Shooters may leave their guns in shooters bags/cases and holster in safety area.  Bag/unbag at the stage is discouraged due to time constraints.  Long guns should be either cased or carried port arms/action open.

8.      When you have finished a stage and the SO is unloading you, please take a sight picture on the berm when you snap the hammer down.

9.      Competitors are expected to remain with their squad.  The squad, as a unit, will tape, reset props, and otherwise assist one another.  Shooters who desert their squad to “scout out” the next stage or otherwise shirk their duty will be subject to the 20 sec. FTDR penalty.  Shooters are expected to act as mature adults while they enjoy the match.  All Badlands SO’s are qualified; some are very experienced.

10. Once the match begins, the Statistics Room is off limits to all but the Statisticians, Match Director and the Assistant MD.  Enter Statistics Room only if you wish a FTDR!  Score updates will be posted periodically at the Rifle/Pistol range bldg.  If you have questions, find the MD or Asst. MD.  During the protest period at match conclusion, invited shooters may enter Statistics Room.

11. Since October 2008, we have been using quality bar code reading equipment to assist in speeding our monthly match stats.  In 2009 the Stats Staff had results posted within 5 minutes of Last Shot.

12. Water containers, seating and shade are available at most stages for your convenience; please enjoy them.  Use the trash cans/bags for their intended purpose.  Littering is not accepted at OCR&GC.  Bathroom facilities are located in the R/P Range Bldg and Skeet Operations Bldg.  Port-a-Johns will be sited near the shooting bays.

13. Lunch Saturday (BBQ) is included in match fee.  We will try to send squads to lunch such that everyone won’t be trying to get food at the same time.  The length of the lunch break will depend on (1) how well the match is running and (2) the weather.

14. Expect to shoot all stages from concealment.  The most current IDPA rulebook, applicable at the time of the Match, will apply 100%.   IDPA chrono procedure will apply.  The SO staff will not review video footage in a dispute.  The MD or AMD will be called in the event of any unresolved issues or protests.  Shooting will continue during this resolution.

15. The Rulebook requires that you load all your magazines to the full legal Division capacity (or their mechanical capacity, if less).  You may not mix mag capacities (i.e. a mix of 7 and 8 rounders).  Your gun must be “topped off” after insertion of a full magazine to start the stage, unless otherwise specified.

16. Awards will be per the IDPA rulebook.  Non-divisional subcategories will be awarded ONLY if at least THREE sign up in that sub category.  We are recognizing the following subdivisions:  Junior (12-18), Senior (50-64), Distinguished Senior (65-up) and Lady.   For special categories we will recognize: Active Military, Military Veteran and Law Enforcement, provided the required 3 minimum in each sign up.

17. The plan is to shoot enough stages Saturday such that Sunday will be a light day.  We intend to have you leaving the Club site, awards in hand, by 2 P.M.

SUPPLEMENTALS SUNDAY DURING THE SCORE PROTEST PERIOD:  SHOTGUN:  (Two to Shoot: one with birdshot /one slugs.)   Birdshot size 6 or smaller, no steel shot.  CARBINE:  .223/5.45 x 39 minimum power, iron sights/scopes/red dots okay, close quarters to 75 yard shots, on the move and static.  More on Supplementals in the reminder email that will go out 2-3 weeks before the Badlands.
